Thanks for the reply is no switching setup, NICs on server are directly cabled to the Drobo's iSCSI NICs (cuts out a whole additional layer of troubleshooting).

I have been through the guide linked below on how to manually set up MPIO, and from what I can tell, the settings are correct and working as expected, and the two iSCSI NICs on the server are evenly sharing storage traffic to and from the Drobo.Ĭould use input and advice on what might be going on here.

I hear good things about Drobos overall, so I have to assume something in the iSCSI config is wrong, but since Hyper-V Server strips down the UI and doesn't support the Drobo utility, I can't have it auto-configure the connection.

I am estimating 2-3 weeks for the copy to finish if these speeds don't slow down any, but I have noticed them as low as 10Mbps (months to transfer). I need to migrate ~10TB of data from this unit to the new storage solution, but am seeing response times sitting around 2-4 seconds and spiking up over 8 seconds at times, and am only getting about 70-80Mbps on large sequential reads of 2TB VHDX files from the Drobo.

The enclosure is full of Seagate ES 2TB drives iirc. It is connected over iSCSI to a server running Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2012 via two different iSCSI subnets to get a little NIC resilience and ideally > 1Gbps transfer speeds. We do have newer products that support SMBv2: However, you can enable SMBv1 on Windows 10, there are some resources online that show you how to do this. The Drobo FS is fixed at SMBv1, there is no way to change this on the Drobo. If using Windows 10 and the Drobo FS, SMBv1 is not installed by default on Windows 10.
